edit: The proof in this lecture is more elegant and beautiful using K-L and J-S divergences. This lecture also explains the change of variables for the integrals as a standard result from the measure-theoretic probability theory. https://youtu.be/pPlnx9D8WZQ?si=RFOb8VjHX6jsnSl1

This study examines the tax burden or household expenditures for personal income tax and value-added tax, classified by economic status. It considers the distribution of the tax burden as the proportion of tax to household income and consumption expenditures. The analysis is based on data from the Household Economic and Social Survey for 2013 and 2021.
The results show a pattern of tax burden distribution consistent with previous research: personal income tax has a progressive structure, resulting in an increasing tax burden for households with higher incomes. In contrast, value-added tax has a regressive tax structure when measured as a proportion of income, with poorer households having a higher proportion of tax on income than wealthier households. On the other hand, value-added tax has a progressive tax structure when measured as a proportion of household expenditures.

I am delighted to announce, as the secretary of the Subcommittee on Elderly Pensions, aligned with the Committee on Social Welfare, that our report was successfully presented to and passed by Parliament this afternoon.
The report urges the government to raise pensions for seniors using state revenue sources, a recommendation supported by numerous economists and international organizations. However, the critical challenge lies in securing the political will to enact the necessary budgetary and tax reforms, which involve developing a fairer and more inclusive economy.
I express my sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed across different government organizations and political parties. In particular, I would like to acknowledge Dr. Duangmanee Laowakul and Mr. Wanat Banthitasopon for their leadership and support in many works, including participating in nine official meetings with various state agencies.
